A new approach to sponsorship

Andy Shaw, the BHPA Sponsorship Officer, has developed a draft common sponsorship framework (Powerpoint document) for BHPA National Championships that could eventually be adopted by all BHPA panels, teams, even clubs.

By working together, sharing knowledge and coordinating our efforts, he believes we can:

In time, he would like to see this framework extended to UK club competitions and British teams competing at FAI Category 1 and Category 2 events, providing sponsors with even greater national and international exposure.

Measuring Success and Delivering Value

Andy is also developing a second template to help monitor and measure safety, performance, participation and competition results.

The aim is to produce meaningful reports for our sponsors, demonstrating what their support has helped achieve and identifying opportunities to improve future sponsorship arrangements.

He believes this is particularly important. Sponsorship should never be simply about asking for money or equipment. It should be about building partnerships where everyone benefits, and everyone understands their responsibilities.

An Invitation to Work Together

This is very much a starting point, and Andy welcomes feedback, suggestions and involvement from across the BHPA community. After nearly 40 years of experience on both sides of sponsorship, he hopes he can contribute something positive to the future of our sport.
