Having waited three months for a further round since the excellent opener at Pandy on May 27th, three more BCC rounds were flown on bank holiday Monday, August 28th. These were at Bell Hill (Wessex), Selsley Common (Avon) and Combe Gibbet (Thames Valley).
Over 70 pilots took to the air despite less favourable conditions than forecast. Early leaders UK Armed Forces lost top spot to the Southern Club after a great team performance at Combe Gibbet.
A good result from Wessex pilots on their home turf could not prevent Dunstable from claiming 2nd place ahead of them. More info here.

You are invited to take part in a short anonymous survey launched by the British Mountaineering Council (BMC).
It consists of 11 very simple questions and will probably take less than 2 minutes of your time. Hang gliding and Paragliding are not listed as activities, but you can easily add them under 'other'.
The BHPA supports the Scottish model. You probably have your own views on expanding Open Access Land, but at Question 10 you might consider commenting along the lines that, 'Hang gliding and Paragliding should not be specifically excluded from Open Access Land.'
The survey can be accessed here

Exercise Paramotor Challenge 30 will see Sqn Ldr Tim Taylor (pictured, left) and Flt Lt Mike O'Hara fly over 200 miles from Catterick to Honington, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the RAF Regiment moving to their current base in Suffolk.
Their route south will take in Belton Park near Grantham, the Regiment's original pre-1946 depot.
The two experienced pilots started out in paragliding before progressing to paramotoring at Wingland's UFly4Fun school. They will be supported on the ground by Flt Lt Jimmy Martin.
Paramotor Challenge 30 is intended to highlight the work of the RAF Benevolent Fund and the Regiment's Centurion Fund, supporting serving personnel and the veteran community.

Seb Ospina won the final task in the French Alps to secure the second place the team had been holding almost throughout the comp.
Superb teamwork from Seb, Stan Radzikowski, Russ Ogden and Tom Cole kept them in contention against a star-studded French team flying on home soil. Congratulations to all, including team manager and strategist Jocky Sanderson, for a brilliant performance.
Congratulations too to new World Champion Maxime Pinot (Fr) and Meryl Delferriere (Fr), the new Women's World Champion. And to North Macedonia who took the Bronze team medal.

It will be welcome news to travelling comp pilots that an insurance provider has entered the market to provide paragliding-specific travel insurance that covers competition flying.
Campbell Irvine Ltd provide Lloyds-backed European and Worldwide travel insurance for pilots participating in paragliding comps, and already arrange such cover for a few British pilots. Their underwriters are made fully aware that pilots are entering a competition and welcome enquiries from BHPA members.
Contact info@campbellirvine.com for a proposal form, which will require details of travel dates, countries to be visited and details of the competition entered, including a link to the comp website.

The women's Telegram group are organising a women's flying meet up on July on 15th-16th on South East Wales Club sites.
Anyone from any club is welcome to attend, and if the weather is good we will go flying.
The SEWHG&PC have offered access to all their sites, with a liaison officer in place for their more sensitive locations.
Even if the great British weather doesn't favour us we will still go ahead. Whether to go on a hike or other activities TBC. The idea is mainly to bring the female pilot community together and have a great time, whatever the weather.
Camping is available at the Pyscodlyn Caravan Park; please book through their website and mention when booking that you're part of the women's flying weekend.
No need to book for the event - you're welcome to just turn up.
If you would like to join the women's Telegram group, please email.
