After performing several 180 degree turns the pilot lost height and finding himself too close to the cliff face was unable to turn away before impact.	Injury Pilot: Fractured and compressed vertebra 12t. (stable)

Appeared to have incorrectly set up equipmment possibly had the controls in the wrong hands. Following inflation the pilot lost control of the canopy and pendulumed into the ground. Date 14.02.2001	Pilot Male Age: 35 Rating: P	Location Rushup Edge, UK Wind Strength: 8-16 km/h Conditions: Smooth/Steady	Wing Type Paraglider Wing: APCO Allegra Launch Type: Foot (Reverse)	Summary Pilot attemting to use thermal lift whilst very close to the hill in very weak conditions. Canopy suffered a left tuck, the pilot attempted to pump the left control but the canopy spun into the hill.	Injury Pilot: Sprained ankle. complicated by discovery of a fracture related to a previous injury.
