Summary
Nose cone became loose from top surface of glider causing the glider to fly erratically. Glider became gradually worse and pilot decided to land. On landing the pilot found the glider was impossible to slow and nosed in heavily.

Summary
On gliding to the landing field from altitude the pilot underestimated the strength of the valley wind. Pilot lost 900m in 4km in turbulent air resulting in landing in a flood defence clearing between trees. Wing tip caught on a tree causing pilot to turn into the trees.
