The pilot encountered turbulence when top landing behind the crest of the hill and lost control of the hang glider at low level. The corner of the base bar hit the ground and stopped dead whilst the pilot swung forward with momentum, injuring the pilot's wrist on the upright.

During an emergency parachute repack, a test deployment was attempted unsuccessfully. One of the parachute container pins (plastic sheathed wire) was found to have been pulled through the metal grommet by the retaining loop, making deployment impossible.
