Pilot inflated wing and noticed cravat on left side. He attempted to clear it but took off anyway. He continued to attempt to clear the cravat but caused the glider to pendulum. The glider then entered a left turn and the pilot impacted the slope heavily.

Pilot deployed emergency parachute due to cravated spiral during SIV training. Harness velcro failed to release bridle causing the bridle to rip off the bridle tunnel rendering the airbag inoperative. Pilot landed safely.
