Pilot launched into thermal lift. Almost immediately he turned back to take advantage of the lift. He misjudged his position within the thermal lift and flew into an area of sinking air above the hill causing him to lose 20ft and impact the hill.

Following take off the glider began to oscillate in roll / yaw - the pilot was unable to control these oscillations which increased in severity until the glider impacted the ridge.

Multiple fractures of arms and legs.

Using the s turn approach method, the pilot misjudged his position and ended up one third of the way down the field with too much height. He then hit some turbulence and was turned, the result being an impact with a telegraph pole.
