On gliding to the landing field from altitude the pilot underestimated the strength of the valley wind. Pilot lost 900m in 4km in turbulent air resulting in landing in a flood defence clearing between trees. Wing tip caught on a tree causing pilot to turn into the trees.

While ridge soaring in light conditions pilot encountered sinking air and could not clear vegetation to make the landing area. Pilot landed in dense hawthorn/ bramble patch requiring rescue by the coastguard.

Pilot lost control of glider during forward inflation tow launch. Initial launch was off to the right and pilot was unable to fully centralise before becoming airborne. Glider then rotated and collapsed resulting in the pilot falling from approx 6m and landing heavily.

Pilot had frontal collapse while on bar. Glider recovered with cravat and eventually twisted risers and spiral. Pilot deployed parachute, which opened in front and dislocated pilots shoulder. Pilot was able to disable glider and landed safely under parachute.

While ridge soaring pilot was losing height and started to head to the bottom landing. Pilot flew into strong thermal and suffered a 70% collapse exiting. Glider re-inflated, pilot regained control and landed safely in the bottom landing field.

Whilst waiting in the queue for a tow launch, pilot was lifted off the ground by an unannounced dust devil. Pilot, who was in his harness, fully kitted up and wearing his helmet, was dumped down 5 metres away.
