Inexperienced pilot was inadvertently turned by turbulent air whilst ridge soaring. With insufficient airspeed the pilot was unable to correct the turn which resulted in a collision with the hill.

Pilot attempting to top land in strong conditions struggled to turn the glider into wind whilst on the downwind leg. She tried apply more force by putting her feet onto the bottom bar, before returning to prone. She impacted the ground i the final turn.

During tow launch the pilot heard a thud followed by the glider pitching nose down. The pilot couldnt find his reserve parachute handle and impacted the ground heavily. He then discovered that his parachute had accidentally deployed during the launch.
