After landing, on packing up glider, Pilot discovered a brake line had gone through a crack in the riser maillon plastic insert and was wedged in and quite difficult to pull out again. Pilot does not know how the crack in the plastic insert occurred.

Pilot took off with one leg loop undone. Pilot immediately felt the issue but was able to stay in the harness. Pilot flew away from the hill into open air and was able get the buckle made up. The harness has one fixed leg loop and the other is a pass through buckle.

The North Luffenham winch Tow site was active and NOTAM H7274/23 issued for tow launch activity up to 2000ft. At 14.22 helicopter G-OCFD flew directly over the tow site 50 seconds after the tow line had been active.

Immediately after launching Pilot noticed the outside B line had snapped approx 1m up from the B riser. Pilot was able to land safely using weight shift. Pilot does not not know how line snap occurred.
