Pilot launched but wind picked up suddenly due to wave. Pilot encountered severe turbulence and attempted to return for a top landing. Glider then collapsed and pilot deployed emergency parachute. Pilot was dragged by chute but uninjured.

Pilot fell over on aborted launch and did not realise his parachute deployment handle had become detached. On attempting to launch again and hearing shouts, the pilot deliberately stalled his glider but was carried over the edge falling onto a path just over 1m below.

Pilot found himself scratching progressively lower down the hill. Pilot impacted still in seated position and was propelled forward on to his front sustaining an injury to his shoulder.

Pilot was overshooting landing area and began to turn. Pilot was told to fly straight into wind and made large control input resulting in a swinging turn into the ground. Pilot landed heavily.

Pilot was attempting a top landing when wind changed direction. Pilot went round again but wind dropped forcing pilot to bottom land when tide was in and no real bottom landing available. Pilot got wet feet and wet equipment.

Pilot noticed that the that the speed system pulleys on the risers appeared to be in different positions, one being lower than the other. On inspection, the pulley strap on the RH riser was found to have torn its stitching and was coming away from the riser.

During repack and annual inspection (with a licenced packer) it was noted that the rubber bands used last year had degraded, broken and stuck to some of the lines on the reserve canopy causing staining in some areas. The licenced packer stated he had never seen this kind of deterioration before.
