Pilot was flying using speed bar when the glider suffered a large frontal collapse. Pilot assessed the collapse as not recoverable given his altitude and so deployed his parachute. Pilot landed safely in trees.

Pilot was forced to take avoiding action by another paraglider pilot who refused to give way while ridge soaring. Pilot, who refused to give his name, said he didn't give way as he didn't want to drop out the lift band.

Immediately after launch a loud 'crack' was heard from the right side spreader bar. The pilot made an immediate bottom landing. On inspection the plastic bar inside the Advance rigid spreader had snapped though it remained encased in the fabric sheath.

Pilot was caught by strong thermic cycle while grouhdhandling causing swift body rotation leading to twisted knee and minor injury. Able to depower wing and regain control without getting dragged. Packed up and walked off hill.
