Whist ground-handling in a very light wind, the student was picked up by a small dust devil/thermal. She went up about 1.5m and then landed on her side hitting her head on the ground.

Pilot overflew the small landing area due to unexpected lift then ended up worring that he wouldn't manage to cross a fence. Pilot turned left for a hard landing but hit the far side of a ditch with straight legs.

After approximately 40 Minutes of flying pilot felt an increased amount of friction in brake line and the small ceramic keeper ring. On closer inspection of the brake line, it was apparent that it had become worn to the point of the outer sheath failing. On inspecting the keeper ring, pilot noticed that a small worn area had developed and become sharp which had over time damaged the brake line.
