Having rigged and checked his glider quickly the pilot prepared for a winch launch. Immediately prior to launch, while clipped in and ready to go, a sudden increase in wind caused the nose wire catch to fail. The launch was stopped. No reason for the failure was found.

Pilot carried out a reverse launch but was lifted off his feet before turning into wind. Pilot decided to stall wing as he was only 10cm off the ground. Pilot pulled fully on both brakes but one of the brakes slipped from his gloved hand causing the glider to spin violently. Pilot was dragged a little.

Glider went off line during tow launch and suffered an asymmetric collapse at low level. Driver backed off power but pilot landed heavily on his back.

Student encountered a small pocket of lift on a simple top to bottom flight. Student applied both brakes then released them causing the glider to pitch. Student landed heavily on his back.

Pilot took off in strengthening winds and was blown along a fence line before being lifted by a gust and slammed to the ground from 3-5m.

Pilot took off down hill as too strong on top. Pilot was then blown back over the top and lost control of his glider. Pilot crashed and was immediately lifted off by glider before crashing again.

Student encountered lift on approach and attempted to tighten turn in order to land in landing field rather than use alternative field. Student allied too much brake and glider began to spin. On recovery student was swung into the ground.

Student stumbled on launch damaging ankle.

Having reached the top of the tow line the student found he could not release the line. The line was guillotined by the winch driver and the student followed emergency procedure and landed safely. A loose bolt on the release mechanism was found to be the cause.
