Pilot lost control of glider during launch in light and variable conditions and crashed into a parked car.

The pilot was losing height and scratching for lift close in to the hill below the level of the road between the main site and Buckstones House. He was lifted suddenly, at which point his glider collapsed on the side nearest the road (this pilot's right side), seemingly in rotor. He was pulled across the road and impacted the slope on the far side.

Pilot landed but did not collapse glider properly. Glider reinflated and became airborne with pilot facing the hill. Pilot impacted heavily.

While soaring his local coastal site the pilot encountered some unexpected turbulence that caused an asymmetric collapse. Pilot applied opposite brake and then suffered a frontal collapse. Glider recovered and dived and pilot ended up in scrub area on slope, unhurt.

Pilot continued scratching in increasingly light conditions. Hit sink and harness caught a tree causing risers to become twisted. Pilot flew into beech trees and luckily had a light landing. No damage to pilot or glider.

Student approached for a top landing. Student came in slightly cross wind and did not get fully out of harness. Student caught outstretched leg on landing.
