Student had good take off while attempting a 'low hop' flight but as she became airborne she applied excessive brake. She was instructed to 'ease off' the brakes but instead released them immediately resulting in a dive towards the ground and subsequent heavy landing.

Pilot lost control of glider at low level while attempting a high banked turn during slalom practice. During the manoeuvre the pilot noticed the left brake handle had become detached from the brake lines. The pilot was unable to regain control and crashed heavily.

Paraglider pilots had mid-air collision while soaring a ridge on the Isle of Arran. One pilot deployed his parachute and landed safely, the other impacted with the cliff and sustained serious injuries.

While on a top to bottom flight a helicopter passed within 100m horizontally and 30m vertically of paraglider pilot. Paraglider turned away from helicopter and landed safely.
