Pilot entered spiral dive and misjudged remaining height before attemting to exit. Spiral dive had locked in and the pilot could not recover before colliding with cliff face at a shallow angle. The glider returned to normal flight and the pilot top landed.

While ridge soaring pilot noticed power lines directly in front. Pilot made tight turn away from the lines but struck them with his hand sustaining serious burns. Pilot was able to land safely using other hand.
