Pilot attempted to gain height to fly round to the front of the hill knowing the wind had gone off to the east. Pilot lost height and flew back to the ridge but encountered leeside turbulence. Pilot suffered asymmetric collapse which he recovered but then suffered full collapse and struck hillside.

Pilot walked down hill in windy conditions in order to launch in lighter winds. On flying towards the slope the pilot experienced severe sink and collided with the hill. The pilot was then lifted and dragged at an angle up the slope. Pilot landed heavily but was able to eventually control glider.

While in flight the pilot noticed the speed system brummell had become detached. Pilot recovered the line and reattached but accidentally fed the line through his emergency parachute handle, thus preventing the proper deployment of the chute.
