Whilst trying to scratch up the face of the terrain, on turning to a down wind beat the glider accelerated to 55 kph. Possibly suffering some rotor from the terrain the ground came up very quickly. The pilot impacted the ground heavily at a shallow angle.

Student was attempting speedbar exercise. Having trouble locating the bar with his foot, the student reached down but with the brake still in his hand. This turned the student back into the slope impacting foot first.
